Wyatt Meschke & Rauchelle Meschke

Patient & Caregiver, Patient & Caregiver

Wyatt Meschke – Patient

Wyatt Meschke is a vibrant and determined 14yearold freshman at Algona High School in Algona, Iowa. Born on January 4, 2012, he proudly holds the title of the New Year’s Baby for his small rural hometown. Wyatt is deeply involved in school life—he plays football, basketball, and his favorite sport, baseball, and plans to try golf this spring. Beyond athletics, Wyatt is musically gifted. He has a strong singing voice and plays the alto

saxophone, he has performed in choir, jazz choir, band, and jazz band. He also volunteers at his church, offering a helping hand wherever needed and sharing his musical talents during special services. Academically, Wyatt is exceptional. He graduated middle school with a 4.0 GPA, one of

only a few students to do so. Outside of school, he enjoys VR gaming, Minecraft, fishing, spending time with friends and his

older brother, and following storm chasers. His fascination with severe weather has sparked a growing interest in meteorology and stormresearch careers. In May 2025, Wyatt was diagnosed with IgAN following a kidney biopsy. Thanks to the swiftness of his family practitioner and referral to an outstanding pediatric nephrology team at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital, his condition is currently stable and

classified as Stage 1. Wyatt approaches his health journey with resilience, curiosity, and a maturity beyond his years.

Rauchelle Meschke – Caregiver

Rauchelle Meschke is a Licensed Acupuncturist at Kossuth Regional Health Center. She earned her Master’s degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota, in 2006. Originally from North Dakota, she now proudly calls Iowa home. Alongside her

husband, Shane, she is a dedicated caregiver and advocate for Wyatt.

Rauchelle has spent her career helping others heal, supporting patients through their own health journeys with compassion and skill. She is a proud member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood (supporting women’s education) and she recently added a new role to her life as her church’s treasurer, continuing her commitment to service and community. When she’s not cheering from the sidelines at her sons’ sporting events, Rauchelle enjoys

remodeling homes for family and friends, working in the yard, spending time with friends, watching movies with her boys and relaxing with a good glass of wine. Wyatt’s diagnosis in May 2025 opened an entirely new chapter—one filled with research, learning, and navigating a disease she had never heard of. After the initial shock, Rauchelle found a new rhythm of normalcy, supported by hope and by finding a community of families affected by IgAN. Her journey reflects strength, adaptability, and unwavering dedication to her

son.

Frequently
Asked Questions

No. SPARK remains our flagship: three days, in person, and it isn't going anywhere. IgAN Horizons is a new, additional offering. Both events will continue.

SPARK is a three-day, in-person conference limited to 400 attendees, built around deep connection and hands-on programming. Horizons is a one-day virtual conference, free and open to the world, focused on making expert IgAN education and community accessible from anywhere.

Because in-person access has real limits. Travel, cost, time off work, treatment schedules, and distance keep many people, especially those outside the U.S., from ever attending SPARK. Horizons was built to remove those barriers, so that where you live never determines whether you have access to this community.

Yes. IgAN Horizons is fully virtual and open to attendees around the world. And because every session is available on demand for 30 days after the event, you can watch on your own schedule, whatever your time zone.

If you can join us in person, we hope you'll come to SPARK. There's nothing like three days in the room together. IgAN Horizons is designed primarily for those who can't make it in person, but registration is free and open to all, and every registered attendee gets 30 days of on- demand access.

Both deliver expert-led sessions, the latest research, and real answers about living with IgAN. But the experiences differ by design: SPARK's three days are built for depth and in-person interaction; IgAN Horizons is built for accessibility and global reach. Attending one doesn't make the other redundant.

Attend live if you can, but every session is available on demand for 30 days afterward, exclusive to registered attendees. Register once and watch whenever works for you, anytime within the 30-day window. Joining live also lets you participate in the leaderboard and scavenger hunt contest.

Yes. IgAN Horizons is completely free to attend, thanks to the support of our partners and sponsors. Free registration also unlocks 30 days of on-demand access to every session.

Absolutely, and many people will. They're designed to complement each other, not compete.

Because we didn't want to compromise either experience. A hybrid model too often shortchanges both audiences: in-person attendees get pulled toward cameras and screens, and virtual attendees end up watching a room they're not part of, an afterthought to the "real" event. While this does work for many other Conference’s that’s not the vision for SPARK.

SPARK's power comes from three days of undivided, in-person connection, and we're protecting that. Horizons deserves the same intention: a day designed from the ground up for a virtual, global audience, not a livestream of something happening somewhere else. Two purpose-built experiences serve our community far better than one event trying to be both.
